This weekend was a scorcher but we all survived. Colin did a great job putting up with the heat and humidity, so did Rufus. Friday evening we arrived at the campsite on the Shenandoah River and go everything set up. It was a hot evening and didn't cool down until around 1 am. Colin was able to sleep through the night! Saturday morning we spent most of the day in the shade and in the river splashing around. Colin took a couple of naps since his energy was zapped by the heat. Our friends Lindsay and April worked really hard making us gourmet campfire meals (brisket and ribs that were amazing) and beverages whenever you needed a full glass! It was a great time to be in nature and share one of our favorite activities with Colin. Although I didn't get to tube, I enjoyed spending time with Colin in the water and at the campsite. As always it was sad to pack things up and leave but I was really looking forward to taking a shower! Once we got home Colin got back into the swing of things and took several naps, so did Eric and Rufus.
Can't wait to find out what our next adventure will be. For now Pizza will be our meal for tonight.

Our Adventure to the Midwest
The stories from the trip...
The rental place gave us an Expedition and we were able to leave Margie Lou at Crystal's place so she would be safe! After Margie Lou was emptied we were buckled in and hit the road. Rufus did great in the car and Colin was a trooper the whole through to Indianapolis. We drove all the way through and we arrived a bit before 1am. Friday evening we went to Connor Prairie for Symphony on the Prairie where we heard wonderful concert which culminated with Fireworks. Saturday we went with Erin to the farm where she rides horses and were treated with multiple fireworks displays that were mind-blowing. When we returned to my parents house, Colin went to bed, and the rest of us blew off some fireworks in the front yard. It was a great time celebrating the 4th a bit early! Sunday morning we packed up and drove to LaGrange, IL. This car trip was a bit harry, Colin got fussy for the last hour. We put in his Baby Einstein Lullabies CD, cranked it up, and he calmed down right away. He was probably just tired of being stuck in his car seat. Once we arrived the Meyers hosted a get together so everyone could meet Colin. It was a lovely evening. The only downside was that in their neighborhood people were blowing off the M-80s and those really drive Rufus crazy. Monday Anna and I went to get pedicures in downtown LaGrange and then in the afternoon we took a family trip to the White Sox, US Cellular Field, for a ball game and more fireworks. Tuesday we all took a fabulous trip to the Brookfield Zoo. It was a scorcher, but we toughed it out. Colin got a cute hat as a souvenir, thanks Granpa & Gramma Meyer! Since it was soooo hot, the family decided to get a kiddie pool for CJ to play in. We were able to get some cute pics of him playing around and it was great to see him enjoy the water play. Wednesday Colin and I were a bit worn out so we took a long nap, and then ended up meeting Ashley and Liam at Oakbrook Mall. Eventually Damian made the trip over and we hung out for a short time. I miss them and wish we lived closer! Hopefully we can get together again! Wednesday evening we packed up again, said our semi-sad goodbyes and drove back to Indianapolis. Thursday we spent some time with Grandpa, took Rufus to a dog park. That evening Eric and I made dinner for GMa, GPa and Erin. The dogs all hung out and Rufus has a girlfriend named Carmen! Those two big dogs would have cute puppies. Saturday my mom took me to her Pilates studio and this workout totally kicked my butt. I was sore for 4 days after that. I think I need to start that around here! That afternoon we packed up again and headed home. We drove to Morgantown and stayed the night. Sunday we woke up and finished our trip. All in all driving wasn't too bad and we handled everything as a great team! We just need to get a replacement vehicle for Margie Lou and then we can take our show on the road to 'your' house next!
Hello all you fans, sorry it has been so long since I have posted. I added the pics from the 4th of July Trip to the 5 months old album. We had a blast spending some quality time with all Grandparents and special Aunts.
