Week 40

Yes, it is week 40 going into week 41. It is now safe to say that Baby Meyer will NOT be a Jan. baby. The trip to the hospital will, at the latest begin around 3:30pm. I am going in to be induced at Civista in La Plata, MD. I have a couple of pics to share, basically we have just been biding our time. Last week went by extremely slow. Hung out with Mom, drove down to visit Nicole and Millie, watched The Soloist, survived 8 inches of snow, and saw the Wackerles. Sorry I am not more talkative, just really over this waiting game. Thanks for your support, thoughts, prayers, and love! Amanda

Still Waiting.......Week 39

Here we are, week 39 and we are still waiting for Baby Meyer. Don't worry Eric is fine with the baby taking forever. I am beginning to become annoyed with waiting for the arrival. Thursday my co-workers threw a Baby Shower for me and it really made my day! Friday I took a personal day, and since Eric had his AWS Friday off we spent the day together. We went bowling and for the 3 games we played I scored at least 100, which was my goal! Eric was getting some practice in for his league he plays on Thursday nights. After we got done bowling and were making the trek home Eric proposed 'going to the mall to shop and hangout cause he was having such a great time he didn't want it to end.' It really made me feel special! Eric also treated me to making dinner, fish cakes, which were totally amazing! I also worked out at my Mom's to be fit class! I like working out, but I really feel "full" since I can't bend and move as I could pre-baby. Mom drove out Friday! Saturday we spent the morning lazing around. Finally we grouped ourselves and headed out to Good Stuff Eatery on Capitol Hill. After our amazing meal we took a stroll to Eastern Market. Bought some art and fruit since the weather was so nice. For the evening entertainment we watched Hurt Locker about a bomb disarming squad. It was good. Sunday we were woken by Rufus who loves getting up early on the weekends. Mom and I went out to take care of some errands and Eric went out to fish. When mom and I came home we began working on the recipe for Deep Dish Pizza. After the pizza was made I began getting the picture book framed. Mom helped me get the artwork arranged on the walls and we also hung the fish and bubble decorations. The room is now complete! Still going into work tomorrow, a bit disappointed that I am looking at week 40 and still NO Baby Meyer. This child is very stubborn. Please pray for us that we will have a quick, safe, uneventful, and pain free delivery! As soon as we know something, or things start moving we will share! Take care, Amanda

Week 38 going into Week 39

To sum up week 38, nothing too exciting. I hung out with Crystal at the National Harbor and we shopped a bit. There is a Godiva Store there I made sure I visited! I also got the infant car seat inspected. It is set and ready for Baby Meyer to take its first ride! Saturday Eric and I took Rufus on the rail trail and E roller bladed while Ru-Dawg huffed and puffed. He could walk all over the Earth, but ask the dog to run and he gets pooped. This week, I have a showcase to present at after school. Tuesday I am getting the convertible car seat in the Buick checked for safe installation. I am ready, every week the baby stays in the bigger it gets, I wonder how big this one will be. We will keep you posted if anything happens.
Enjoy the videos and pics!

Brand New Baby....

but it isn't Baby Meyer. The Harmons, Mike and Nicole welcomed their precious little girl into the world last night between 12:30-1:30am. She weighed 6lbs something. I didn't really get all the details, but the important gist that Lady Harmon, to be named soon, arrived healthy and Nicole is doing great. I am so happy that she got a little girl! Maybe that means I will have a boy! No big news here, still waiting. I did have a bit of Chron's related flare up all day yesterday, and trying to figure out what is happening today. I personally think I was having sympathy pains for Nicole in her labor. ;) For the past 2 days the baby has been very active, and moving/kicking a lot. Everything was going great until the flare up, and now I am not feeling well. This weekend has been nice, spending time with Eric and Rufus. Till the next exciting installment. Take care! Love ya, Amanda

Tea Time!

Saturday I met up with Nicole for tea at Pinkadilly Tea in Fredericksburg, VA. The place was so girly! It was really great getting to see her and share the woes and excitement of our pending due dates. We have been told we have the same date, Jan. 27th, but we shall see what happens.
Additionally I have posted a couple of pics of the nursery. I am including a video tour to see how the video camera that Anna sent us works. It takes amazing pictures, and the video seems to be good, but I need to know if you can access the video so please post comments on whether you have problems or not!

Hope you have a great rest of the weekend! Details will be coming as soon as anything happens. :)

Boring Update

As we close in on the estimated due date, Jan. 27th, things are going smoothly. As I have said before, I am totally thankful that I have had a 'normal', 'easy', and uneventful pregnancy. Baby Meyer is as active as ever, especially when I am looking to relax. I hope this is not showing me our immediate future. hehe This weekend I have plans to hang out with Nicole, we are going to have High Tea together! There is a party at my friend Scott's house. Sunday we are going to catch up with some other buddies. It seems that there is an increase in request to hang out since we are nearing the due date. I don't mind, it makes me feel great that people want to hang out! On to some baby news: The nursery now has a glider, we are still waiting to see if the crown moulding is put up, or are we delaying that project. All the furniture is arranged, the clothes are washed and put away, and the crib is waiting for Baby Meyer to come home. The car seat base is in the Mazda, and just needs to be checked. Since I installed it I know that it is perfectly safe. Our freezer is stocked, we just have to resist eating the food now instead of waiting until we are home bound for a short stint. I am so totally excited to see Baby Meyer! I can't wait to hold him/her in my arms. Talk to you later, Amanda

Intimate details::::
On Monday the visit to the doctor told me that I am soft/loose, the head is extremely down, and my cervix is still closed. I just have a feeling that Baby Meyer may make its arrival before the 27th. One of my biggest fears is that my water will break in public, but since I have NO control over that I am not wasting my time obsessing. I did dream the labor process was easy and pain free, so since I dreamed it-it has to be true. Right? Love you all!

"Good name in man and woman is the immediate jewel of their souls" Shakespeare

I know this is a controversial topic, but I decided I wanted to know your feedback on the names we are considering. If you don't like any, don't leave a comment. I am not looking for negativity, just your input on those combinations you like. Again, nothing is set in stone and who knows, we may select something not even here when Baby Meyer arrives! ;) I would really like to know which name combination you think sounds great. Hope you keep it fun! If you want to suggest your own combinations that would be entertaining too!
Love ya, A

Happy New Year~2010!

Hope everyone spent the evening celebrating the close of one year and the prospects of a brand new year! Eric and I went over to Anthony's house and hung out with that crew, Eric certainly had a blast! We were the last ones to leave, typical Meyer fashion. Plenty of fun was had by all, even Rufus got in on the action by playing around with our friends, Kasey and Jimmy's, dog Tyson. Eric and I are excited to welcome the new year with new roles and responsibilities as mom and dad. It is odd looking at this threshold of our lives knowing things will never be the same, in a positive way of course. I am really looking forward to a healthy, uneventful, quick labor and delivery which will result in the arrival of Baby Meyer and many wonderful new experiences. Enough being mushy, I miss all my friends and can't wait to see everyone when they come to visit! Here is to a new year with new possibilities!
Love, Amanda
