Birthday Dinner with Eric

This evening Eric and I took advantage of restaurant week in DC. We decided to give Hook in Georgetown a try, and we were not disappointed. When I rushed in to make sure they would preserve our reservation until Eric could park the car, the hostess informed me that I needed to wait until my whole party arrived to be seated. The funniest part was the restaurant was completely empty. After Eric arrived we were taken to the back of the restaurant and we were greeted by 4 different members of the wait staff. It was nice to be doted on! I ordered a beet salad, grass-fed Ffillet Mignon with crushed potatoes, and for dessert a piece of lemon cake with vanilla ice cream. It was a delicious meal! Eric ordered oysters, Wahoo with corn, and apple pastry for dinner. After our lovely dinner we walked around Georgetown and ventured to the waterfront. Here we were greeted by a diverse crowd of people in expensive outfits and the boating crowd wearing bikinis and man belly guts hanging out. It was an interesting place to people watch. We finally headed home to take Ru-Dawg out for a long walk. I am pleased with my birthday weekend. What a wonderful way to conclude this weekend. Baby Meyer is saying hello! Hope everyone has a great week! Love, Amanda

Magical Gift

Last night at around 11pm I experienced some movement of Baby Meyer. There were about 3 different times where s/he was moving around. It was an amazing experience, and a wonderful birthday present! Just wanted to share one more milestone that I have now expereinced. Love ya, Amanda

Week 18

This week at work has been exhausting. I have needed a nap almost everyday. Thankfully the commute is short. Besides getting the school year started I am still getting things organized and moved in to my office. I have a hard time remembering that maybe I shouldn't be lifting things. My back has been sore, but I have made a resolution to NOT lift any more boxes. Eric and I went to the doctor and everything checked out okay in regards to the previous visit lab work. The weight gain is on track. We were able to hear the heart beat and the beats were strong around 160's. Blood work was sent out for the 2nd trimester screenings so we shall see what comes from that. My next appointment is scheduled for 22 weeks and I was able to schedule our next sonogram that morning as well. After that we should be able to post a pic of Baby Meyer. I am so excited to meet this person! Sometimes I feel that when I am sitting things are getting bit squished. There are some days where my belly looks like its own entity. I know it can only get bigger. I will post another pic in a couple of weeks. I am really excited about Football starting again, I love watching it with Eric! Here's to hoping our teams perfom decently. Thanks again for all of your thoughts, prayers, and supportive words of encouragement. Till next time, Amanda

Additional Info

After spending time Friday with the Harmons in Culpeper, VA and boating on Lake Anna the skies did open up and it poured all day today. Rufus had fun playing around in a big backyard, and he really doesn't like cats. Matt kept us entertained by speaking to us in his gibberish language. Nicole and I were able to spend some QT sans Matt and husbands gushing over our expected arrivals. It was a great time being with them and as always it is hard to say goodbye. I finally was able to post pics from VA Beach and this visit with Nicole. It is our week 17 going into week 18. Four months have gone by fairly quick, I am still optimistic that things will continue smoothly through the end! Hope everyone out there was able to have some fun this weekend. Hugs to all, Amanda

A New School Year, A New Job

Hello to all you readers! I hope that your summer was as eventful as mine! I went to Virginia Beach, VA with my mom, sister, and Aunt Laura this past weekend. We managed to enjoy the whole experience! My fabulous birthday dinner culminated with a fireworks display Erin told me she ordered just for me! I was thrilled to have everyone come and visit me on the east coast. Monday I began the new year in my new position. It is a bit overwhelming working at a school with so many new people to meet and remember! I miss Walker Mill, but I am really looking forward to building this program at the Ferguson/Burroughs Academy. My office space is huge, but lacks any furniture and/or storage. Hopefully that will be remedied. Working hard on the scheduling needs for the TAG students. Right now I am at 17 weeks, I will add a picture later today of my expanding belly. Eric is still in denial, he considers it weight gain. :) I have not felt any movement/quickening, but I am anxiously awaiting the first sign. This weekend we will be traveling to Culpeper, VA to spend time with the Harmons. Here's to praying that it won't rain! I will be in touch!
Love ya,
Amanda

Return From Paradise

Last night, very very late I returned from St. Thomas. A wonderful sunny beach vacation! Snorkeling, sun bathing, and shopping! What more could a girl want. The only thing that was missing on the trip was spending time doing these things with Eric. I traveled with my friend Theresa and enjoyed myself, but still wished Eric could have been there. We saw Magens Bay, St. Thomas USVI and Trunk Bay, St. John USVI. I was able to buy duty free alcohol sampling will begin Feb.! Things are still going great with Baby Meyer. I am still curious to know the sex, but we won't find out and are looking forward to the joyous surprise in Jan. Love ya all! Amanda

Weddings and Babies!

This weekend Eric and I traveled back to Chicago for a Wedding, of Deanna and Sean Gordon. What a wonderful day! Beautiful ceremony outdoors, lovely weather, stunning bride, and pretty people all around! Thanks to the Kohrs for the party! Sat. the Meyer family went for a sail on the Windy in the Windy. It was a great sail, fast but great. Then we all headed out to Joe's StoneCrab, Seafood, and Steak Restaurant which was a decadent meal. Stuffed to the gills we headed back to the house and watch Grand Torino, good movie 2 thumbs up. Today I am beginning my journey to visit the newest Dockery, Liam, and then the newest Kennedy-to be named. So far things are going well with me. Slowing down has helped a lot and drinking lots of water. Going to pick up the rental, take care! Amanda
